Classroom Teacher
Accountable To: Launchpad Preschool Director
Time Commitment: Full-Time, 8:15am – 2:15pm M-F
One Sentence Job Description: The Teacher will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop in age appropriate tasks and educational potential.
Description of Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age appropriate activities that support social/emotional development, language development, biblical understanding, and educational development
- Arrange and organize classroom environment to encourage age appropriate play
- Prepare classroom for daily activities
- Provide a variety of learning materials to accomplish classroom goals
- Provide feedback to parents about their student’s behavior and progress toward established goals
- Establish a daily schedule and age appropriate classroom rules and expectations
- Comfort, encourage, and love students at all times and in all situations
- Provide age appropriate, biblically-based strategies for problem solving in social situations
- Become familiar with state provided resources that are used as guidelines for program development
- Become familiar with The State of Tennessee Childcare Licensing Rules
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to effectively share classroom space and materials
Qualifications, Skills and gifts
- Active Foothills Church partner
- Maintains a consistent quiet time and has a passion to follow Christ
- High School Diploma or equivalent, college degree is preferred
- At least 18 years of age or older
- Experience with teaching or leading children
- Is able to perform duties independently and without direct supervision
- Is able to communicate clearly with adults and children ages 2 to 5
- Knowledgeable and/or teachable in effective discipleship strategies for preschoolers
- Can work well with others in a team environment
- Is flexible and positive at all times
Time Requirement
- Full-Time, 8:15am – 2:15pm M-F
- Monday through Friday following the Launchpad School Calendar
- Attendance is required to all in-service days, staff meetings, state required training hours, and school events.
