Matthew 28:19-20 is called the Great Commission. Jesus told us to go and make disciples of ALL NATIONS. It's our desire to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples, especially the unreached unengaged peoples of the world. There are approximately 7.2 billion people in the world. A generous estimate is that one third or 2.4 billion are disciples of Jesus. That leaves approximately 4.8 billion who do not know the one true God and His Son Jesus Christ. Of the almost 5 billion who do not know Jesus, between 2 and 3 billion do not know Jesus because they have never heard of Jesus. They are not rejecting Jesus, they have never heard of Jesus. These numbers are why God is a sending God and He commands us to go.
Our primary partner is with the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The IMB currently has approximately 3,700 missionaries on the field and IMB President Dr. Paul Chitwood recently announced a goal to have 500 new missionaries on the field by 2025.
FC global mission trips will be determined based on global conditions with the ongoing pandemic, travel advisories and availability of travel. We don’t know when global trips will resume. We will continue to offer opportunities to reach the nations here and through different channels where the nations have come to us, such as with partnerships with NAMB/Send Relief at ministry centers across the nation.
The International Mission Board (IMB) is the missionary arm of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). Teams serve around the globe to share the gospel, make disciples, develop healthy leadership and multiply churches among the unreached unengaged people groups of the world.
There are pathways for individuals, married couples and families to serve. Pathways are either short-term (up to 2 months), mid-term (1-3 years) or long-term (at least 3 years).
