Foothills Student Ministry exists to make disciples in relational environments by partnering with parents and other adults in the spiritual development of young people. Being completely in line with our churches overall vision of making disciples in relational environments, our vision is accomplished by sharing with students the love of God, connecting students with the people of God, and equipping students for the mission of God.
We Share:
The center of all that we teach at Foothills is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every Wednesday we will share God's redemptive story (Genesis to Revelation) in hopes that every student will hear the gospel and have the opportunity to spiritually mature.
We Connect:
The second step is connecting our students with other believers. In doing so, students will grow in their relationship with God through small groups, other relational environments, and relevant teaching from God's Word.
We Equip:
Finally, we want to champion the family to be the primary disciple-makers of our students. We want to work alongside our parents, our small group leaders, and other adults to equip our students to live with a biblical worldview, love the local church, and love the Great Commission.
Wed. Night DOXA Student Gathering:
Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm
Doxa is our worship service specifically designed for students, 6th-12th grade, and takes place Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:00 in "The Loft". Pastor Greg shares God's love and teaches the Bible, doctrine, theology, and apologetics in a way that is relevant for a young person in today's world. We need to prepare our young people to know why they believe what they believe as they enter college and/or the "real world," as they are faced with the many challenges it will bring. They will get this, as well as authentic community, at Doxa.
Student Small Groups:
After attending DOXA, the second step for our students is connecting to the people of God in Small Groups. Our student Small Groups meet in host homes throughout our city on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00PM. Email Pastor Greg to see where you child's small group is meeting - ggibson@foothillschurch.com.
