What does it mean?

"Foothills, I Love You" is a project devoted to helping Maryville TN, located at the foothills of the Great Smokey Mtns. We believe God wants our community to hear him say, "Foothills, I Love you." We love our community and we want the people to know Christ. Our church has recently purchased a facility and will renovate it in order to help our city hear and experience the love of Jesus. We purchased the facility formerly known as Thunderworld, 1551 W. Lamar Alexander.

The property sits on 5 acres of land less than a mile from the Foothills Mall. We plan to move into the facility and begin holding Sunday service by February 27th. We plan to use half of the building while we construct Phase 1 of the master plan. Renovations to the facility will begin in the near future. The entire space is 31,000 sq feet, but Phase 1 of the renovations will be to 16,000 sq ft, which will include a 600 seat worship auditorium and a themed kids area.

Phase 2 will include a themed Preschool Ministry area, which will also operate as a Mothers' Day Out program during the week. We will also renovate the bar area into a contemporary café. It will also include an environment for teens filled with an interactive media area. Phase 3 will be our administrative area. Timing of each phase is yet to be determined.

"Foothills, I love you" is a three year campaign dedicated to completing the vision God has given to our church. Even though we will benefit from this experience, our goal is to provide ways in which we can engage the people in the Foothills community with the love of Christ.

How much will it cost?

The purchase of the building and the first Phase of renovations will cost 1.7 million.

ENVISION: sermon series

Envision was the sermon series during the first 8 weeks of our campaign. It began January 9th. We studied the book of Nehemiah and sought to understand God's vision for our church and our personal lives. To listen to these message click here.

Day of Prayer

We spent an entire day praying and seeking God on January 28 5PM-January 29 5PM. We set up numbered prayer stations all throughout the facility to guide us through the process. Each station included prayer suggestions along with Scripture to read. We prayed for our city and the world to encounter Christ. We prayed for an awakening to sweep across our community for the glory of God.
